Take care if you are cycling along the Tarka Trail. Recent high winds and heavy rain have brought lots of leaves and branches down making the surface slippy and dangerous.
There are reports of a tree down completely blocking the trail between Velator (Braunton) and Wrafton.
The heavy rain and high winds are set to continue over the week or so as we ease our way into the winter months, but the middle of the month is looking a little bit more settled.
As well as the fallen twigs, branches, leaves and entire trees making cycling difficult there is also a real risk of being thrown off balance by a gust of wind.
Another problem with high winds is that is harder for walkers to hear cyclists approach, so please consider this and give warning if you can or slow down when passing pedestrians.
If you come across any issues, please let us know and please do take care.
